Privacy Policy

Compra is operated by Acuai Labs Pvt Ltd (“Compra,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We handle personal data in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection laws.

1Information we collect

When a merchant installs or uses Compra, we may collect:

  • Merchant account and contact information.
  • Shopify store name, domain and store ID.
  • App settings and survey configurations.
  • Billing and support information.
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser and app-usage data.

Depending on the Shopify permissions approved by the merchant, we may access:

  • Customer and order identifiers.
  • Customer contact information.
  • Products purchased.
  • Order date and other order metadata.
  • Survey responses and related information.

The permissions requested depend on the Compra features being used.

2How we use information

We use Shopify customer, order and survey data only to provide Compra’s features, including:

  • Connecting survey responses to Shopify orders.
  • Helping merchants target surveys to relevant customer groups.
  • Providing merchant insights, reports and analytics.
  • Operating and securing the app.
  • Responding to support and privacy requests.

We may use merchant account and technical usage information to maintain, secure and improve Compra, and to send merchants product updates and marketing communications, which merchants can opt out of at any time.

We do not use Shopify customer, order or survey data to improve unrelated services, advertise to customers for our own benefit, sell data or build independent customer profiles.

3Sharing information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Compra, such as hosting, storage, email, payment and support providers. These providers may process information only to provide services to Compra and may not use it for their own purposes.

If a merchant enables an integration, relevant information may be sent to that integration at the merchant’s request.

We may also disclose information when required by law or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of our business.

4Merchants and customer requests

Compra determines the Shopify data required to operate its features. Merchants review and authorise the requested Shopify permissions when installing or configuring the app. Compra uses the authorised data only to provide the applicable features. Merchants decide how to use the resulting surveys, customer segments, reports and insights for their business purposes.

We respond to Shopify’s mandatory customer-data request, customer-deletion and store-deletion webhooks. We delete or anonymise relevant information within the required period unless it must be retained by law.

5Data retention and security

We retain merchant information while the merchant’s account is active and afterward where reasonably necessary for legal, tax, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

Shopify customer, order and survey data is retained while required to provide Compra or until it is deleted by the merchant, the app is uninstalled, or we receive a valid deletion request.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in protected backups until those backups are overwritten.

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect information. No internet service can guarantee complete security.

Information may be processed in the countries where we and our infrastructure providers operate.

6Children

Compra is a business service intended for Shopify merchants and is not directed or marketed to children.

Compra does not use customer or survey information to conduct advertising or behavioural monitoring directed at children. Merchants are responsible for complying with applicable children’s privacy and parental-consent requirements.

7Privacy rights

Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights to access, correct or delete their personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, request data portability, and complain to an appropriate data-protection authority.

Merchants may contact Compra directly. Shopify customers and survey respondents should normally contact the relevant merchant, and Compra will assist the merchant in responding.

Compra does not sell personal information and does not share Shopify customer, order or survey data for cross-context behavioural advertising. Individuals will not be treated unfairly for exercising their privacy rights.

8Cookies

Compra may use essential cookies or local storage for authentication, security and survey operation.

We do not place third-party advertising trackers in Compra survey widgets.

9Contact, grievances and changes

We may update this Policy when Compra or applicable laws change. The updated date will be posted on this page.
